According to the Associated Press, last week’s drone strike on a US military base in Tanf in southern Syria was carried out with the help of the Islamic Regime of Iran, but none of the US troops were harmed in the same way as in a dramatic attack on Ain al-Assad.
The US military base in Tanf in southern Syria was attacked on Wednesday (October 20th). At the time of writing, it was not clear which group carried out the attack. But US Central Command (Centcom) responded to the news by saying that the United States would respond to the attack in due course.
The Associated Press also quoted media outlets affiliated with the Islamic regime of Iran as assessing the “Syrian allies'” attack on Tanf in retaliation for the recent attack on the city of Palmyra. Israel is said to have carried out the attack. On Wednesday (October 13th), Syrian media reported that at least seven members of the Revolutionary Guards and Syrian forces were killed and wounded in an Israeli airstrike on Palmyra.
