25-year contract – The Chinese entered north of Iran

Representatives of China’s state-owned construction engineering company arrived in Mazandaran province as part of a 25-year contract with the Islamic Republic of Iran to invest $1billion.

IRNA reported that representatives of the Chinese company met with senior officials of Mazandaran province on Tuesday, April 7, to discuss investment opportunities in the province.

Hassan Kherianopour, Mazandaran Governor’s Deputy for Economic Affairs Coordination, has announced the company’s areas of interest for investing in the province as “ports, buildings and dam construction”.

The representative of the Chinese company in this meeting, while expressing satisfaction with the presence in Mazandaran, started the process of examining the provincial investment opportunities of Iran for this Chinese company in the form of a 25-year Iran-China contract, said: “I thank the governor of Mazandaran. Mazandaran became our first target province for investment.”

Goa said that they know “Mazandaran is one of the strongest provinces economically” and that is why they have started investing in Iran from this province.

He said the Chinese state-owned construction company is interested in cooperating with Iran on “railways, construction, dams and many other important and large projects”.
