Mike Pompeo said that the US appeasement of the ruling regime in Iran would make them bolder and would eventually force Israel to take military action against the Islamic regime of Iran.

According to the Jerusalem Post on Tuesday, October 12, Pompeo, speaking during the 10th Diplomatic Conference of the Jerusalem Post, said that President Trump’s administration’s decision to step down was the right thing to do and that policies were being taken to protect the world from the Iranian regime.

“We have restricted them (the Iranian regime) from access to resources and their ability to pose a threat in the Persian Gulf region,” the president’s secretary of state added. The removal of Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani demonstrated our serious determination to defend US interests around the world. The path we took prevented the Iranian regime from acquiring nuclear weapons. If the Trump administration remained in power for one or two more years, cooperation between that government and the Israeli government could have hampered the Iranian regime’s nuclear progress. “We have never allowed the Iranian regime to acquire nuclear weapons,” he said.

Asked by reporters how clear the prospect of a general normalization with the Arab nations was for Israel, Pompeo said he believed several Arab countries were ready to recognize Israel as a “partner of peace and prosperity.”

He added: “The Ibrahim Act is a clear solution that all the people of the region can become a member of base on their choice. Israel is a peaceful country, and the Palestinians can have a better life.
