Israeli Defense Minister visits the US Fifth Fleet based in Bahrain

The Israeli Defense Minister visited the of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain on Thursday. This is part of an unannounced trip amid escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf following drone and missile strikes on the United Arab Emirates.

During the historic visit of the Israeli Defense Minister to Bahrain, officials from the two countries signed a security memorandum. Thus, Bahrain is the first Gulf state to sign a security agreement with Israel.

Simultaneously with the meeting, the official Bahraini news agency “Bana” announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding on the military field between the Ministries of Defense of the Kingdom of Bahrain and Israel.
