The Tankers Trackers, has reported that a tanker carrying half a million barrels of “Iranian oil” caught fire off the coast of China. This incident happened on Friday, February 18, 2022.

Tanker Trackers tweeted: “an old uninsured foreign-flagged tanker carrying half a million
barrels of Iranian oil caught fire in the far East but the crew managed to extinguish it quickly. The incident was never reported.”

IRNA news agency also reported on Saturday that the news agency’s follow-up shows that the tanker that caught fire near the Chinese coast does not belong to Iran, but the oil shipment “may” be oil that was traded by Iran with one of its customers.
