Local Taliban officials in Nangarhar announced that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s consignment of aid, including six tons of rice and four tons of medicine, had arrived in Jalalabad and would soon be distributed to “martyrs’ families”.
After taking control over Afghanistan, the Taliban compiled a list of families in need and deserving of humanitarian assistance from around the world. Priority is given to receiving aid to the families of those killed in the Taliban fighting foreign forces and the former Afghan government.
According to a statement from the Nangarhar governor’s office, aid provided by the Islamic regime of Iran will be distributed to the families of Taliban members killed in the war.
