Amir Abdollahian arrived in Beirut after Moscow and said upon arrival: “We announce loudly that Iran will continue its support for Lebanon. We will stand by the Lebanese people with all our might to break the Lebanese sanctions.” Earlier, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati said that the Islamic regime in Iran was violating Lebanon’s national sovereignty.

Regarding the talks between Antony Blinken and Sergey Lavrov, Amir Abdollahian said: “If there is real intention on the other sides on JCPOA and everyone returns to their commitments, Iran will also be ready to return and fulfill its obligations. The verbal messages of the United States and the passive claims of the three European countries are not the criteria for the return of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the negotiations. We will act based on practical measures of the other parties, including the lifting of sanctions and their return to obligations under the deal.”

Amir Abdollahian then talked with Hassan Nasrallah for four hours. At a joint news conference, Nasrallah said: “Iran has proved that it is a sincere ally and a loyal friend, that will not abandon its friends even in difficult times.” He continued, “There are high hopes that as a result of multilateral cooperation, Lebanon will get rid of the current difficult situation.”
