Hojjatul-Islam Alireza Panahian, Khamenei’s favorite panegyrist, said in the “Mahe Man” program, which is aired on the mullahs’ regime television run by Peyman Jebelli: “The recent riots have shown our weaknesses, which have caused a number of young people to turn away from religion. This is significant. We must take this seriously. If people consider religion as an unfeigned matter, they will not oppose religion, just as no one opposes science today.”
Panahian continued: “A big mistake is happening in our society. They don’t consider the value of religion as much as science. We must make a change in our religious teachings, this is another situation. It is unbearable that we see this amount of religious desertion in the society. Of course, the amount of religious desertion in our society is low and it’s not significant enough to make people rebel against religion, but this is the amount that we all know and see around us.”
