One of the protesters of November 2019 in Kermanshah took his life earlier this year due to mental health issues caused by his blindness after being shot by a bullet during the uprising protests and financial poverty.

Mohsen Mahmoudi Kariani, a 28-year-old Iranian citizen, has been identified as the target of a direct shot fired by the Islamic security forces on November 16, 2019 in Garage Square, Kermanshah.

According to the report, both eyes of Mr. Mahmoudi were removed due to deprivation of medical services during his detention and deportation to medical centers, and as a result, he became blind.

An informed source told Hengaw that after his release, the security services promised Mr. Mahmoudi’s family that they would pay him ransom if the media did not report the news, but after 18 months, they did not take any action. This year, Mohsen hung himself and ended his life due to financial problems and mental health concerns caused by becoming blind.

According to the report, Islamic security agencies and members of the Karian village council in Kermanshah had previously prevented Mr. Mahmoudi’s suicide from being reported by the media.
