British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss tweeted that Putin’s actions were not in vain and that London would step up its sanctions against Russia.
Referring to the heavy sanctions imposed on Putin, she said, “In addition to one of the world’s biggest sanctions packages against Russia,” Britain is also targeting Putin’s supporters through emergency legislation. “They will have nowhere to hide,” she said.
In another tweet, the British Foreign Secretary wrote: “The United Kingdom, our NATO and G7 allies are determined to stop Putin in Ukraine. Together we are doing all we can to support the Ukrainian people, isolate Russia on the international stage and ensure Putin fails.”
