According to the Associated Press the Parliament, the highest advisory body of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has voted in favor of changing the national anthem and the Saudi flag.
The Saudi parliament approved by a majority of votes the draft amendment to the flag, the removal of the phrase “There is no god except Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of God” from the national flag and the change of the national anthem.
This happened after “Asad Al-Otaibi”, the planner and a member of the parliament, presented the draft amendment to the shape of the Saudi flag to the parliament.
