“For at least a year and a half now, the Syrian government has revoked the license to import cars from Iran and no Iranian-made car is allowed to enter Syria,” Eqtesad News reported, citing investigations by the Tehran Chamber of Commerce. A member of the Tehran Chamber of Deputies has confirmed the news of the ban.

It is said that Iranian carmakers are seeking to enter the markets of other countries in the region, including Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, following the closure of the Syrian market.

According to Eqtesad News, the Islamic regime of Iran had built a car factory in Syria in recent years, equipped with three halls, all of which have been closed.
