The Council of Ministers, at the suggestion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and pursuant to a single article of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, agreed to issue a permit for the opening of the Consulate General of Communist China in Bandar Abbas, a port city and capital of Hormozgān Province on the southern coast of Iran, on the Persian Gulf.
Just as the Russians had a consulate in the city of Rasht, now the Chinese have a consulate in the south of Iran, like in the Qajar period, the country was divided between the two powers!
