Ardeshir Dadras, president of the Iranian Synthetic Gas Association, said that due to a previous agreement with Russia, gas could not be extracted from the large gas wells in the Caspian Sea and “at the moment we should not think about the gas resources in the Caspian Sea.”<\/p>\n
“Under an agreement signed between Hassan Rouhani’s government and the Russian government, Iran has no right to extract from the eight large gas wells in the Caspian Sea, which is within Iran’s water resource,” the judge announced during a meeting of the Tehran Chamber of Energy.<\/p>\n
“Iran’s share in the world of gas resources is 17.9% and Russia’s 18.1%, which is currently blocked if permission to extract from these eight wells is blocked,” he said, referring to the deal as the current gas turmeric. Iran’s share was estimated at 18.2%, making it the world’s second-largest gas producer, but under the agreement, Russia did not allow Iran the gas extraction that belongs to Iran.<\/p>\n
At the same time, the judge referred to the construction of the Amirkabir vessel for the extraction of oil wells in the Caspian Sea, which took several years, and reminded that this vessel has not achieved anything for the country so far, adding: “Iran can not practically extract resources Oil and gas in the Caspian Sea, on the one hand, Iran’s maritime territory in this region has been reduced due to agreements with Russia and is now reduced to one-fifth compared to the past, thus giving Iran access to deep waters.
