Tehran Police Commander Hossein Rahimi criticized advertising for “selling weapons, bullets” and publishing “immoral issues” in cyberspace and called on the responsible bodies to address this issue.<\/p>\n
“Unfortunately, in some cases, we have seen inappropriate advertisements being published on some sites, some of which are licensed,” he said. “These cases need to be monitored.”<\/p>\n
Regarding legal action against these sites, the Tehran police commander said: “You should note that the site owner and the responsible bodies should self-monitor and deal with criminal cases.”<\/p>\n
Rahimi warned of an increase in firearms in Tehran last November, saying, “Unfortunately, the weapons in the capital have somewhat increased.” He said a report had been sent to officials.<\/p>\n
The Javan newspaper affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards wrote in a report last year that photos of weapons with prices, models, years of manufacture, and their calibers are available on websites.<\/p>\n
