
The price of foreign currencies in Iran on the morning of Wednesday 11 September and hours after the new round of American attacks, set a new record and the price of Euro, the European currency, crossed the border of 255 thousand tomans for the first time.
Websites announcing the exchange rate of the dollar, including Nusan, reported the price of the US dollar to be around 220 thousand tomans. The price of UAE dirham has reached more than 60 thousand tomans.
The increase in the price of foreign exchange rates in the free market of Iran has intensified since the announcement of the UAE to cut off financial relations with Iran and the beginning of the economic pressure program of the United States known as “Operation Economic Exclusion”.
On Wednesday, the price of the gold coin known as “Emami” was reported as 224 million Tomans despite the global drop in gold prices.
On September 10th, Abdolnaser Hemmati, the Governor General of the Central Bank, denied the claim of lack of foreign exchange resources and the possibility of the collapse of Iran’s economy, and said that the Central Bank is ready to supply up to two billion dollars of currency to curb the market.
