The US State Department has announced in a memo that a technology group based in Italy has provided the communication infrastructure used by violent leftist groups and some terrorist organizations outside the US.
According to the memo, obtained by Fox News Digital, the technology group offered services including encrypted messaging, email, web hosting, video conferencing and anonymization tools.
Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, has announced the imposition of sanctions against this complex. President Trump’s administration says the move is aimed at dealing with infrastructure that Washington claims supports the activities of violent left-wing groups.
The note also names “Rose City Antifa” as a group based in Portland and it is said that this group used the services of the said group.
The US State Department has also announced that a media group has used this network to disseminate and transmit information to Hamas, the IRGC’s Quds Force, Lebanon’s Hezbollah, and the Palestine Liberation Movement.
