Mahboubeh Ramezani, the mother of Pejman Gholipour, who was killed in November 2019, and Saeed Afkari, the brother of Navid Afkari, who was tortured and executed in September last year, criticized Asghar Farhadi’s remarks, Iranina the filmmaker, on his lack of awareness in cyberspace.
Saeid Afkari wrote in tweets on Friday that Asghar Farhadi went to his uncle’s shop in Shiraz while filming the movie “Hero” and said in response to several people who asked for Navid’s photo to be part of the frame: “I can not.” Saeid added: “We know that if Navid’s photo appeared on your camera, your film would have never been allowed to be played. But I wish you did not at least claim that you are informing people when you ‘tilt your camera’ to get a license to hide a large part of the truth these days.”
Mahboubeh Ramezani, Pejman Gholipour’s mother, also wrote in a text: “Mr. Farhadi! Cyberspace is not the enemy of people, but in this era of repression that you seem to be unaffected by, is the only voice of the oppressed people.”
Ms. Ramezani added: “Thank you for the information you wanted to give to these people. But our loved ones have given their lives to get past this false awareness of yours. Take your heroes and get the prizes with it, but do not dare take advantage of us, the people, know that our heroes have either shed blood or are being tortured in prison.”
Part of Asghar Farhadi’s new film “Hero” is about wrong judgments and the destruction of people in cyberspace. He has also criticized the lack of awareness in cyberspace in interviews.
